Take these simple steps with our Thanksgiving travel safety tips to safeguard your home and belongings over the holidays.

Thanksgiving Travel Safety Tips

  • Do not posts the details of your travel plans – unless you want to alert would-be thieves.
  • Mute your home telephone’s ringer, so it cannot be heard from outside the house – again, alerting potential thieves.
  • Have your mail and newspapers picked up by a neighbor or friend. An overflowing mailbox and a pile of newspapers are indications to criminals that you are out of town.
  • Do not hide a key outside your home.
  • Consider using timers to operate the lights in your home, giving the illusion that you are in residence.
  • If you will be traveling by car, make sure you have a car emergency kit – print a checklist here.

We hope you have a happy and safe holiday!

Don’t forget to print our Thanksgiving Place Cards, so guests can “Give Thanks” before the big meal.
